The Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs announced Saddletree Homes’ Bel Canto as the winner of the 2006 Grand Award at the 24th Annual MAME awards. The Bel Canto also won Best New Home, Best Interior Design for a New Home and Best Architectural Design for a New Home.
Local builders and related businesses are honored each year at an Oscar-like gala for their Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME). The gala, attended by approximately 500 members, presents awards in 53 categories, including housing design, construction, merchandising and advertising.
MAME awards recognize significant contributions to the residential merchandising of new homes and related industries performed by local builders, developers and their associates. MAME awards are the highest honor in the local industry and consistently stimulate more creative efforts in design, architecture and communication for the consumer’s benefit.
Judges at The International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida chose from among 180 entries using criteria specific to each category. For example, best new home crieteria included overall exterior and interior design appeal, creative use of interior space and functionality of floor plan. Also included is the use of color, materials, furniture, accessories, window and wall treatments, exterior materials and landscaping.
